  • Katie Cook

    CO-FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL

Katie has always had an interest in old buildings, especially the houses of everyday people. Her experience as an architectural historian working on projects in Detroit, the metro area, and throughout the country has provided her with the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of buildings, neighborhoods, and culture that are important to people in each community. Katie’s love of preservation was inspired by her mom, who served as the family archivist and genealogist, and who showed her how even the smallest pieces of information can be woven together to tell a larger story. Katie brings enthusiasm for exacting research to each project and jumps at the chance to look at census records, historic newspaper clippings, maps, and property records to document the story of a person, building, or community. Katie has an Associate of Business Administration in Accounting from Macomb Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master of Science in Historic Preservation from Eastern Michigan University. Katie’s spare time is occupied with reading, gardening, playing with her dog Marley, perusing antique stores, and wishing she had more room in her house for antique furniture.
